Five goals scored in the first 15 minutes of Sunday’s first round of the Bronco-fest boys soccer tournament gave host Bronxville a fast start as the Broncos defeated Tuckahoe 6-0.
The victory gave head coach Donny Lucas his 200th career win.
“It has been a pleasure to be the head coach of Bronxville boys soccer the past 15 years,” Lucas said. “I would like to thank my past and present players for their continued support through the years. I would also like to thank the administration, athletic director, fellow coaches, parents and my family for the support that they have given me over the years. I look forward to many more years of coaching soccer at Bronxville.”
Ricardo Timoney scored twice. Sam Aherne had a goal and an assist.
Bronxville will play the winner of Rye Neck/Valhalla Sept. 20 at 4 p.m. for the championship.
Best of the rest: Tournament MVP Kaio DaSilva scored on a corner kick in Valhalla’s 2-0 win over Westlake in the championship game of the Mount Pleasant Cup. Yuto Tobin had a goal and an assist.
