The season is over, but LoHud’s coverage is not

All four Section 1 champs are done after a couple of heartbreaking overtime losses in the regional finals this past weekend, but don’t let that postseason hangover kick in just yet.

Although there won’t be any more games involving local teams in 2013, there will be plenty more coverage right here. I’ll get it started tomorrow when I post my final rankings of the season, which I’ve been working on for the past few days.

It’s also time to start thinking about postseason awards. I won’t post any of the awards given by Section 1 until after next week’s All-Section dinner, but I will begin soon with polls for the awards given out by The Journal News. I have tough decisions for who our players of the year will be in both Westchester/Putnam and Rockland, as well as the coaches of the year for each side of the river. Who do you think the top candidates are?

I want to thank everyone for following along right here on The LoHud Boys Soccer Blog all season. It’s been a fun ride, but it’s not quite over yet. Be sure to stay tuned in the next few weeks for all of our postseason coverage…
