Semifinal results: Pelham, Pearl River advance to Class A final

I’ll be back later with game stories from Pelham-Byram, Pearl River-Keio and Mamaroneck-Greeley. Until then, here are brief recaps of every game:

CLASS AA

Arlington 0, John Jay-East Fishkill 0: In a Class AA semifinal at No. 1 Arlington, the Admirals advanced 3-1 on penalty kicks. Arlington will play the Mamaroneck-Greeley winner in the Class AA final at Arlington High on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Horace Greeley 1, Mamaroneck 0: In a Class AA semifinal at No. 2 Mamaroneck, Adam Siff scored in the 16th minute to help No. 14 Greeley pull off the upset over the previously undefeated Tigers. The Quakers will play No. 1 Arlington in the Class AA final at Arlington High on Saturday at 6 p.m.

CLASS A

Pelham 1, Byram Hills 0: In a Class A semifinal at No. 1 Byram Hills, Charlie Livingstone scored on an assist from Aidan Murray in the 34th minute. It was the first home playoff loss for the Bobcats in seven years. No. 4 Pelham will play No. 3 Pearl River in the Class A final at Arlington High on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Pearl River 1, Keio 0: In a Class A semifinal at No. 3 Pearl River, Sean Coughlan scored the game-winner on a header in the 71st minute. The Pirates will play No. 4 Pelham in the Class A final at Arlington High on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

CLASS B

Blind Brook 3, Irvington 0: In a Class B semifinal at No. 2 Irvington, Joe DiBerardino, Matt Streichler and Jacob Berk each scored for No. 3 Blind Brook. DiBerardino and Berk also had assists. Scott Wurtzel made six saves in the shutout. The two-time defending champs will play No. 1 Bronxville in the Class B final at Arlington High on Friday at 5 p.m. in a rematch of the 2011 section final.

Bronxville 3, Briarcliff 2, OT: In a Class B semifinal at No. 1 Bronxville, Matthew McCloskey scored the golden goal nine minutes into overtime. Sam and Liam Aherne also scored for the Broncos. Harold Pineda scored for No. 4 Briarcliff with 90 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game into OT.

CLASS C

Solomon Schechter 2, Hamilton 1: In a Class C semifinal at No. 1 Solomon Schechter, Charles Hochfelder and Greg Rabinov each scored for the Lions. Edisson Moscoso scored for No. 4 Hamilton. Schechter will play No. 2 Haldane in the Class C final at Arlington High on Sunday at 11 a.m.

Haldane 8, Tuckahoe 0: In a Class C semifinal at No. 2 Haldane, Ramsey Hietmann and MacDara Heanue each scored twice. The Blue Devils will play No. 1 Solomon Schechter in the Class C final at Arlington High on Sunday at 11 a.m.
