For the last three years, Yonkers and Rye have met on the third Sunday of October in what is becoming an annual tradition.

In addition to the friendly rivalry between players, fans also got a look at some exciting, overtime soccer.

Leo Gomes scored the lone goal of a 1-0 win for Rye in the 87th minute of the first overtime, giving the Garnets bragging rights for the second consecutive year heading into next year’s rendezvous.

Teams awarded “Man of the Match” to members of each team — with winning goalie Johnny Emanuel taking home the honor after a four-save shutout. Cesar Cruz earned the award for the Bulldogs.

The match also named “Sportsmanship Awards” to various players. JJ Cronin and Patrick Condon were recognized for the Garnets and Pedro Cruz and Greg Termolle were recognized by the Bulldogs.

Termolle made six saves for Yonkers.

Best of the rest: Brothers Ricarti and Otavio Basso scored in Pelham’s 3-0 win at Bronxville, the fifth-ranked Class B team in the state.
