New league alignments for 2013

I just got back from the coaches meeting at Byram Hills, and while there isn’t much to report, one thing that stood out to me is that the leagues have been shaken up a bit for this upcoming season. While some leagues remain the same, there are a few in which some of the top teams in the section have been bunched together — see Leagues 1-A, 2-B and 3-C — with other leagues that look like they’ll be much less competitive. This will surely have an impact on the overall records for all of these teams, and ultimately, seeding for sectionals.

Here’s what the leagues for the 2013 season look like:

LEAGUE 1-A — Arlington, Carmel, John Jay-EF, Ketcham, Mahopac, Somers
LEAGUE 1-B — Beacon, John Jay, Lakeland, Lourdes, Yorktown
LEAGUE 1-C — Arlington B, Brewster, North Salem, Pawling, Poughkeepsie
LEAGUE 1-D — Haldane, Hen Hud, Panas, Peekskill, Putnam Valley
LEAGUE 2-A — Roosevelt, Solomon Schechter, Tuckahoe, Woodlands, YMA
LEAGUE 2-B — Mamaroneck, Mount Vernon, New Rochelle, Scarsdale, White Plains
LEAGUE 2-C — Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings, Irvington, Sleepy Hollow
LEAGUE 2-D — Gorton, Lincoln, Riverside, Saunders, Yonkers
LEAGUE 2-E — Bronxville, Eastchester, Edgemont, Pelham, Scarsdale B
LEAGUE 3-A — Blind Brook, Hamilton, Rye, Rye Neck, Valhalla
LEAGUE 3-B — Briarcliff, Croton-Harmon, Fox Lane, Harrison, Pleasantville, Westlake
LEAGUE 3-C — Byram Hills, Horace Greeley, Keio, Ossining, Port Chester
LEAGUE 4-A — Clarkstown North, Clarkstown South, North Rockland, Ramapo, Spring Valley, Suffern
LEAGUE 4-B — Albertus Magnus, Nyack, Pearl River, Tappan Zee
