Practice stop schedule for Thursday (Vin’s back)

I’m back, and I’m ready for some action.

I’ll be making my first round of practice stops on Thursday, visiting with three teams that I believe each have legitimate section title hopes. Port Chester will have a new challenge now that it has been bumped up to Class AA just one year after reaching the Class A state final. Byram Hills lost to PC in last season’s Class A section final and could be the favorite there now. And Pelham may have the most returning talent of any Class A team and could be Byram’s biggest threat.

To start off the day, I’ll be hitting Pelham around 9 a.m. and probably making it to Byram by 10:30. Then, after lunch and some writing, I’ll be heading to Port Chester later in the afternoon. For my thoughts and observations throughout the day, follow me on Twitter @vzmercogliano.

I’ll be making more practice stops on Friday, as well as next week, so stay tuned for details on which teams I’ll be visiting with. Twitter will be the best place to find out.
